YOUR CAREER PATH

I joined the family-run business in 1978. At that time, jewellers in the city used to sell only loose diamonds and no readymade diamond jewellery was available. My father decided to sell readymade diamond jewellery and became the pioneer of this category. Today, we are one of the prominent players of diamond jewellery in West Bengal. We grew from only two employees at that time to around 200 today

I have always believed in team work. I always try to keep my team motivated and in high spirits.

YOUR BIGGEST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY

In 1984, I decided to open the first diamond jewellery showroom. At that time in Kolkata, jewellers used to maintain small gold stores. My decision paid off as it helped us to increase our customer base and our diamond sales grew exponentially.

YOUR BEST BUSINESS ACHIEVEMENT

In 2007, I decided to open a brand-new modern showroom of around 6,000 ft in the heart of Kolkata, which was the biggest jewellery showroom in the city at that time.

YOUR BIGGEST BUSINESS AMBITION

My ambition is to spread the name of our brand across the country by opening more stores and catering to a lot of new and existing customers.

I have prepared both my sons to be successful jewellers and I am also training my grandson to be a good jeweller one day.

YOUR HOBBIES

I do not get much time outside of my business. Sometimes, I spend time with various social groups working for the upliftment of the underprivileged and downtrodden in society.
