Svaraa Jewels designs cricket-inspired lab-grown diamond, plans to hand it over to IPL 2025 champions

This unique piece, created over 350 hours and through 12 trials, is a tribute to the sport of cricket and its passionate fans and players. According to the brand, it is perhaps the smallest existing IPL logo using lab-grown diamonds

Ahmedabad: Even as the 18th edition of the high energy Indian Premier League (IPL) holds the country’s attention, Svaraa Jewels, a part of leading jewellery retail brand Kalamandir Jewellers, has come up with a unique creation – a cricket-inspired lab-grown diamond that it intends to present to the tournament champions. This piece, created over 350 hours and through 12 trials, is a tribute to the sport of cricket, which is immensely popular. The 4.32-carat diamond has been meticulously crafted to symbolize the spirit of the game, capturing elements such as a bat in motion and the energy of a cricketer at play.

According to Chahat Shah, Founder of Svaraa Jewels, the brand has crafted perhaps the smallest existing IPL logo using lab-grown diamonds. “We are excited to present the smallest IPL logo ever made, using lab-grown diamonds, making a mark in both the jewellery and cricket worlds,” he stated.

Talking of the inspiration behind the cricket-inspired diamond, Shah said, “Cricket is more than just a sport in India; it’s a celebration of unity, resilience and passion. We wanted to encapsulate this essence into a piece of jewellery, and thus the cricket-inspired diamond was born. The design process involved a team of five artisans, each with over 25 years of experience, working together to ensure the diamond truly reflected the energy and precision of cricket.”

The diamond, designed with the IPL season in mind, aligns with the nation’s love for the sport. Svaraa Jewels’ announcement that the winning team of the 2025 IPL will receive the cricket-inspired lab-grown diamond not only ties the brand to one of the most-watched sports events in India, but also presents an opportunity for greater visibility and brand salience within the cricket-loving community.

“We wanted to create something special for cricket fans, something they could cherish as a symbol of the game’s spirit,” Shah explained. The unique creation is also intended to attract a new customer base, merging the worlds of luxury and sports. Svaraa Jewels plans to offer a limited number of replicas of this diamond for the next two months, available exclusively at its stores.

By forging a connection with the high-visibility IPL and offering such an exclusive product, Svaraa Jewels hopes to strengthen its brand presence and expand its audience. The move also highlights the growing popularity of lab-grown diamonds in the jewellery industry, a space Svaraa Jewels is keen to explore further.

“With this initiative, Svaraa Jewels has bridged two iconic symbols of Indian culture, i.e,. cricket and jewellery,” said Shah. “We believe it will help us build stronger connections with our customers and increase brand awareness among cricket lovers.”

Notably, the IPL is currently being played across various cities in India, with the grand finale slated to be held on May 25, 2025 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The teams competing in the IPL are Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad, attracting interest and eyeballs across the country. According to media reports, the IPL has become one of the biggest sporting events in the world with a brand value of close to $12 billion.

Svaraa Jewels has retail stores in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, and also sells online, serving customers across 6,000 PIN codes in India. Looking ahead, the brand plans to expand by opening 5-10 new stores and increasing the online business. With ambitions to enter Tier II cities and eventually expand internationally, Svaraa’s long-term vision includes establishing 100 stores across India by 2030.
