IIG’s 29th convocation ceremony celebrates excellence in gems and jewellery education

The International Institute of Gemology (IIG) hosted its 29th convocation ceremony in Mumbai recently. It marked the culmination of years of hard work and dedication for the graduating students, who were honoured for their outstanding achievements in the field of gems and jewellery.
The event was attended by esteemed industry leaders, notable guests and the entire IIG team, creating an atmosphere filled with anticipation and celebration. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Nilesh Chhabria, COO of Finestar Diamonds, who delivered an inspiring address to the graduates.
The event commenced with an opening note from Rahul Desai, CEO and MD, IIG. It set the tone for the convocation ceremony, captivating the audience and instilling a sense of pride and motivation among the graduating students. His words carried wisdom and encouragement, acknowledging the achievements of the graduates and highlighting the significance of their educational journey.
During his address, Desai emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, adaptability and embracing challenges in today’s rapidly changing world. He shared insightful anecdotes and personal experiences, connecting with the graduating students and igniting a sense of purpose as they embark on their professional paths.
The highlight of the event was the keynote speech by Nilesh Chhabria, who left the audience inspired and motivated to pursue excellence in their respective fields.
During his speech, Chhabria touched upon several key themes, including blockchain technology, innovation and the power of education. Drawing from personal experiences and sharing anecdotes, he emphasized the importance of embracing challenges, pushing boundaries, and continuously striving for improvement.
During the convocation, a total of 114 students were felicitated with certificates on successful completion of various programmes offered by IIG. Seven special trophies were awarded to exceptional students who demonstrated exceptional skills, talent, and dedication in their respective fields of study.
Desai also launched the IIG Alumni Club at the convocation ceremony.
