Spanning across 4,900 sq ft across Level 1, Level 2 of the Sands Expo & The Venetian, the India Pavilion housed 39 member exporters, each presenting a curated selection of their finest creations
Mumbai– In a display of craftsmanship and design innovation, the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) presented the India Pavilion at the 2024 JCK Las Vegas trade show. Marking its 19th consecutive year at this event, the India Pavilion showcased the pinnacle of Indian jewellery artistry, capturing the attention of visitors from around the globe.
Spanning across 4,900 square feet of Level 1 and Level 2 of the Sands Expo & The Venetian, the India Pavilion housed 39 member exporters, each presenting a curated selection of their finest creations. From the passport section to the diamond pavilion, lab-grown, and current sections, the pavilion offered a comprehensive display of India’s diverse jewellery offerings.
Vipul Shah, chairman of GJEPC, expressed his pride in India’s participation, highlighting the nation’s leading position in the global jewellery market. With the USA being the largest export destination, accounting for over 30% of India’s total gem and jewellery exports, the India Pavilion served as a platform to showcase India’s unrivalled craftsmanship and design expertise to the world.
A major highlight of the exhibition was the India Design Gallery, located at L-105, Level 1. Showcasing 20 meticulously crafted jewellery pieces, the gallery exemplified India’s rich heritage and modern creativity. Divided into two themes, “Objet Trouvé” and “Unusual Materials,” the gallery presented a fusion of tradition and innovation, captivating visitors with its unique offerings.
Under the theme of “Objet Trouvé,” jewellery pieces crafted from unconventional materials such as vintage poker chips, antique coins, and beachcombed treasures were on display, showcasing the creativity of Indian artisans. Meanwhile, the theme of “Unusual Materials” pushed the boundaries of traditional jewellery design, featuring pieces crafted from bamboo, wood, leather, and other unexpected elements.
India’s commitment to ethical business practices and sustainability was also emphasized at the exhibition. Renowned for adhering to the highest standards of integrity and social responsibility, Indian jewellers prioritize fair trade practices and responsible sourcing, ensuring that gems and jewellery are sourced from legitimate and conflict-free origins.
The GJEPC’s participation in international exhibitions such as JCK Las Vegas underscores India’s significance as a preferred sourcing destination for the global jewellery industry. Through initiatives such as the India Pavilion and Design Gallery, the GJEPC continues to promote India’s rich jewellery heritage on the global stage, fostering collaboration and showcasing the best of Indian craftsmanship to the world.
