GJEPC launches eighth India Rough Gemstone Sourcing Show in Jaipur

The event is one among GJEPC’s several annual trade shows that help boost the connection between Indian businesses and the global jewellery industry for increasing trade opportunities and domestic business

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) inaugurated the eighth edition of its India Rough Gemstone Sourcing Show in Jaipur on August 29. The business-to-business (B2B) event is showcasing a selection of emeralds from Zambia. The show will run up to September 19 and aims to draw a crowd of jewellery industry names from across India.

The sourcing show is one of the GJEPC’s numerous annual trade events which are designed to forge links between Indian businesses and the global jewellery industry to both boost domestic business and increase Indian trade opportunities.

The gemstone sourcing event features an assortment of rough emeralds displayed by the Gemfields-owned business Kagem Mining Limited, based in Zambia, the GJEPC reported on its website. The event was launched by Jaipur’s commissioner of customs Sugrive Meena in the presence of the city’s assistant commissioner of customs Vijay Prakash Verma.

Adrian Banks, Managing Director, Kagem Mining Limited, attended the exhibition’s inauguration and will be present for the duration of the showcase. Other jewellery industry figures who participated in the event’s inauguration included the Nirmal Kumar Bardiya, Regional Chairman, GJEPC; Nawal Agarwal, Convener, Gold Jewellery Panel, and K.B. Goyal, Convenor, Silver Jewellery Panel, among others. Members of the GJEPC’s regional committee and CGS panel committee were also in attendance at the launch.
