Cartier expands retail presence in India; opens first boutique in Mumbai at Jio World Drive

Mumbai: Luxury brand Cartier expanded their retail presence in the Indian market by unveiling their new boutique in Mumbai at Jio World Plaza. In-house ambassador Deepika Padukon inaugurated the showroom. This is Cartier’s second store in India, with their other flagship store being located within Delhi’s luxury shopping mall DLF Emporio.
The Maison’s Mumbai store is a fusion of traditional elegance and modern luxury, and is the latest addition to the city’s charming architectural gems.
Bruno Moinard and Claire Bétaille of the Paris-based Moinard Bétaille agency are renowned for their long standing partnership with Cartier, and have woven elements of local culture into every detail of this space. The tediously handcrafted ceiling pays tribute to Indian craftsmanship and royal grandeur. Designed specifically for the boutique, it also features a panther overlooking the city and the Bandra-Worli sea link. From the delicate lattice patterns on the towering screens to the vibrant patina murals swirling along the boutique’s walls, visitors will find the brand’s signature glocal design fusion within every nook at the store.
For Cartier’s choicest patrons, the VIP Salon offers an exclusive sanctuary where novelties can be appreciated discreetly.
Gaetan Guillosson, Country Manager, Cartier India, talked about how the space is meant to be a reflection of the harmonious mosaic of diverse designs that are as much Indian in spirit as they are global – “The boutique has been designed to reflect an intrinsically Indian sense of design by paying homage to local heritage through unifying worlds of architecture, nature, and vibrant colors, creating an ambient space to welcome our clients and best showcase our most desirable creations.”
