Bangalore traditionally likes gold but now diamond jewellery preferences have gone up
Pratap Kamath – Abaran Timeless Jewellery, Bangalore, talks to Samit Bhatta, Publisher of The Retail Jeweller India Magazine about his expectations from IIJS Signature 2022.
What are your expectations at the IIJS Signature Show 2022
We are very excited that the IIJS Signature 2022 is back in Mumbai after two years. We were lucky to have the IIJS in Bangalore this year as well. Its at a new venue too, so with the fantastic infrastructure it has, we are looking forward to the show.
Which category of Jewellery are you specially interested in at the show and your message to the Manufacturers / Wholesalers who are exhibiting?
The season has been very good from the time we opened. Bridal jewellery has sold well. There has been a significant shift in the mindset in Bangalore too,as different categories of people live here. Demand for bridal and jadau jewellery has increased. Bangalore traditionally likes gold but now diamond jewellery preferences have gone up in the last six months. We are very happy about this change.
