Amrapali Jaipur Adds Bollywood Magnum Opus ‘Manikarnika’

After having their exquisite creations worn by leading celebrities from across the globe in movies like Troy, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Ram Leela, Saawariya, Khoobsurat, Cocktail, and most recently, Baahubali 1 & 2; the heritage jewellers from Jaipur has added yet another blockbuster to its portfolio with Manikarnika.
As the official jewellery design house for the biopic, the Kangana Ranaut starrer will see her as well as the supporting cast adorning exquisite Amrapali jewels throughout the film. Special pieces inspired by the art and architecture of the Maratha region were commissioned by the filmmakers and costume designer Neeta Lulla to epitomize the dual persona of Rani Laxmi Bai as a majestic queen & fearless warrior. Along with Kangana, the rest of the film’s cast will also be seen wearing the jewellery to exemplify their roles and characters.
The script was decoded to create stunning jewellery that elevates the visual journey for the viewer and lends credibility to the characters in the movie. It took 1.5 years and 30 karigars to create an expansive collection of 955 pieces in approximately 700 different styles. From royal sarpech’s, delicate hair and nose pins to extravagant head ornaments, the jewellwry was meticulously handcrafted in gold plated silver studded with semi-precious and precious stones.
“Amrapali has been an integral part of Manikarnika, where our jewellwry was synchronized to fit every character and the larger than life sets & scenes. Our designers and artisans have worked tirelessly for over a year to achieve the desired aesthetics that the script demanded.” said, Raiv Arora & Rajesh Ajmera, Co-founder of Amrapali Jaipur.
At the onset of the film’s launch, Tribe Amrapali is launching the Manikarnika collection, a capsule curation of jewelry that will be seen in the movie. This includes gold plated silver embellished earrings, ear cuffs, neckpieces, statement rings, and mathapatti. Available across Amrapali stores and on tribeyamrapali.com, the prices range from 2,000 INR to 40,000 INR.
