The pop-up targets local and non-resident Indians, expanding the designer’s global presence, following a collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman in New York
Doha: Celebrated designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has launched an exclusive pop-up showcase of his fine jewellery collection in Doha, Qatar. Hosted at the luxury fashion boutique Printemps Doha, the event offers a rare opportunity for Middle Eastern shoppers to experience his opulent creations. The showcase, which opened on December 10, runs until December 14.
The display features some of Sabyasachi’s signature high jewellery pieces, crafted in his renowned fusion style. Among the standout pieces is a necklace made from 18-carat gold, adorned with 24.99 carats of rubellite, tourmalines, sapphires, spinel, garnets, iolites, and EF VVS VS diamonds.
With this pop-up, Sabyasachi aims to engage both non-resident Indians and local high-net-worth individuals in Doha, a region known for its luxury market. This move comes as part of his ongoing global expansion, which recently included a collaboration with luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman in New York, where he launched a designer residency running until February 2025.
Besides the flagship store in Mumbai, Sabyasachi’s fine jewellery line is also available at his store at the Taj Krishna in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills, which opened in January 2023. The store’s interior blends Indian antiques with maximalist design, reflecting the eclectic nature of the brand’s jewellery collection.
The brand is making waves in the international market, evident from collaboration with some of the biggest global stars adorning its jewellery. The latest star to showcase Sabyasachi’s creations is American actor and singer Jennifer Lopez, who dazzled in Sabyasachi high jewellery at the premiere of the film Wicked in Los Angeles recently.
Sabyasachi began his jewellery venture in 1999, a few years after founding his fashion label in Kolkata. His jewellery reflects India’s rich craftsmanship and tradition, combining antique and modern styles with a refined, understated sensibility. His pieces often incorporate intricate beadwork, enamel, polki diamonds, precious stones, and high-quality metals.
The ace designer now operates five stores in India and an opulent boutique in New York.
