GIA India Offers Complimentary Seminar for Students in Deogiri College, Aurangabad

GIA India organised an education seminar on “Introduction to Diamonds” for students pursuing Jewellery Design and Gemmology courses at Deogiri College, Aurangabad, on Mar. 8. More than 60 students attended the seminar to gain important information about diamonds from GIA.
GIA Instructor Amar Agarwal shared insights on diamond characteristics, attributes, history, the 4Cs – Colour, Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight – of Diamond Quality and how combinations of these quality factors contribute to determining value. It was an interactive seminar as students asked questions regarding various diamond types and the differences between natural and laboratory-grown diamonds.
Dr. Mrs. G. S. Patil, Vice Principal of Deogiri College, said, “Our institute also offers a course in gemmology, but we always try to make sure the students are aware of industry updates and knowledge. GIA India’s seminar on ‘Introduction to Diamonds’ delivered a great deal of information on diamonds – right from mine to market. The seminar also touched upon the identification of natural and laboratory-grown diamonds. I believe our students benefited immensely from the seminar.”
Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA India and Middle East, said, “Learning is essential and knowledge is important for your growth. Being a mission-driven Institute, GIA India is dedicated to continuous education and research in the field of gems and jewellery. GIA India organised this seminar to educate and create awareness about industry-related topics and various career possibilities offered by the industry. We are thankful for the support received from Deogiri College and the response was incredible.”
