Using visual story-telling, the brand taps into the power of cinema of the 1970s and 1980s to highlight the design roots and cultural relevance of its jewellery. It positions jewellery as a medium that holds memories, much like a customer’s favourite film or old song
Bengaluru: Arnav Jewellery has launched a new campaign that draws on the silver screen of the 1970s and 1980s not as a stylistic choice, but as a deliberate brand exercise to engage audiences through emotional recall and shared cultural memory. Rather than highlighting a product line, the campaign offers a series of visuals and popular cinematic story-telling moments that focus on how jewellery connects generations, sentiments and personal history.
“The inspiration for this campaign came from the way cinema, romance and music were experienced during that time,” said Chetan G Raja, Founder and Director, Arnav Jewellery. “There was an authenticity in the emotion – whether through stories or music – that people could truly feel. We wanted to recreate that sense of connection.”
The decision to revisit the cinematic past is rooted in the brand’s core work, crafting antique and repurposed jewellery. Arnav Jewellery frequently re-interprets older designs and revives traditional motifs, which naturally aligns with a campaign built around nostalgia and cultural reference points. By positioning jewellery as a medium that holds memories much like a favourite film or old song, the brand is expanding the scope of customers relating to its creations. “We make a lot of antique jewellery and repurposed designs,” said Raja. “So for us, going back to the classics felt like a natural step. It is another way of highlighting the work we do of honouring what came before, and showing how it continues to live on in what we create today.”
While the campaign does not introduce a new collection, its intent is to strengthen emotional resonance with the existing customer base. Arnav Jewellery is using this initiative to reinforce its brand values of authenticity, individuality and cultural continuity. By invoking shared memories and generational bonds, the campaign aims to deepen brand affinity and distinguish the jeweller in a crowded marketplace.
“The campaign is about creating an emotional connect with our community, reminding them of moments they value, relationships they cherish, and memories that jewellery often carries with it,” explained Raja.
The campaign has a planned run-time of six to eight weeks, with more content to follow. Depending on audience feedback, Arnav Jewellery may consider extending the concept into future campaigns or product story-telling.
Arnav Jewellery, formally known as Arnav Jewellery & Collectibles Private Limited, was incorporated in January, 2022. The company is based in Bengaluru, and currently operates two stores in the city.
