Hisar: Alankar Jewellers recently undertook the renovation of two key public infrastructure facilities in Hisar – the Jindal Chowk Police Check Post and the Bus Stand Police Assistance Centre – as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. The projects were completed at the retailer’s own expense in collaboration with the local police authorities.

According to Kamal Guri Prajapati, Proprietor, Alankar Jewellers, the initiative stemmed from a practical observation rather than a planned CSR exercise. “We noticed that police personnel stationed at these locations had to work in harsh weather conditions, particularly during the summer. After speaking with the authorities and obtaining the necessary permissions, we decided to renovate the facilities,” he said.

Guri noted that community service has been at the core of the company’s philosophy since its early days in the clothing business, long before it entered the jewellery sector. He added that while the project was conceived as a public welfare initiative, it also helped strengthen the retailer’s relationship with the local community and Government authorities.

“The response exceeded our expectations. We received strong support from the Police department, and customers appreciated the effort. Many told us that when a business contributes to society, they are encouraged to support that business in return,” he added.

The renovation reflects a growing trend of jewellery retailers extending their CSR efforts beyond donations and awareness campaigns to invest in civic infrastructure that delivers tangible benefits to the communities they serve. For Alankar Jewellers, the project reinforces its longstanding commitment to public welfare while contributing to improved working conditions for frontline police personnel and strengthening civic infrastructure in Hisar.

Alankar Jewellers operates one primary showroom in Hisar, Haryana.
