The jeweller aimed to move beyond symbolic gestures and pay a genuine tribute to the role of mothers. A bust of Bela Saha – the late matriarch of the Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers family – was also unveiled at the Dakshineswar Ramkrishna Sangha Adyapeath
Kolkata: Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers organized an event titled ‘Sricharaneshu Ma’ at the Dakshineswar Ramkrishna Sangha Adyapeath temple on May 11, 2025 to mark Mother’s Day. The initiative paid tribute to women who are the essence of motherhood. It aimed to move beyond symbolic gestures and offer genuine respect to the role of mothers.
This year’s event was dedicated to a hundred elderly mothers who participated in the event. The gathering included presentation of gifts to them and announcement of a monthly yoga workshop to support their physical well-being.
Brahmachari Mural Bhai and Deepa Maa of Dakshineswar Ramkrishna Sangha Adyapeath were the honoured guests at the event. Yogi Biswa, a yoga teacher who will lead the upcoming wellness workshops, was also present. The attendees, mostly elderly mothers, expressed their appreciation through their active participation.
Rupak Saha, Director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, said, “We have always taken our pursuit of excellence beyond the four walls of the jewellery showrooms and shown concern for all that is ailing in society by extending a helping hand whenever the need arises. ‘Sricharaneshu Ma’ at Dakshineswar Ramkrishna Sangha Adyapeath gave us great joy as we were able to light up faces of one hundred old mothers and celebrate motherhood because nothing on earth is more precious.”
As part of the programme, a bust of Bela Saha – the late matriarch of the Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers family – was unveiled. “We chose the time of the unveiling of the bust of Bela Saha – our dear departed mother who continues to be the guiding force of our organization – because we thought it would be a fitting environment for the purpose,” Rupak Saha stated.
Notably, Adyapeath, established in 1967, is a sacred Hindu temple of great religious significance, dedicated to Adya Maa, a divine form of the Goddess Kali, and spiritual guru Sri Ramkrishna Paramahamsa. It is located at Dakshineswar, on the eastern bank of Hooghly river in Kolkata.
