Parekh Brothers Jewellers identifies with accomplished women by hosting ‘Woman of the Year’ awards
By developing an awards property that celebrates the accomplishments of woman leaders and achievers across diverse walks of life, the brand is giving back to the community and amping up its visibility
Nagpur: Parekh Brothers Jewellers recently hosted an awards ceremony titled ‘Woman of The Year’, celebrating accomplishments of woman leaders, rising stars and achievers across various walks of life, building a platform that resonates completely with the woman-centric values of the brand.
It initially began as a radio programme where RJ Raj from a Nagpur-based radio show had interacted with Matisha Parekh, Head – Sales and Marketing, Parekh Brothers Jewellers, as one of the top woman achievers of the year. From there, the idea to develop the associated in-house awards property gained ground.
Throughout the year, the brand closely tracks the activities of different associations and organizations it is personally in touch with, such as the Nagpur Ladies Organization and their work for NGOs. The shortlisted woman achievers are then interviewed on the radio show and awarded at the brand’s Nagpur store. The winners of this coveted award were selected on the basis of various parameters such as their contribution to the ecosystem, business impact and relative position in their respective industries.
The brand is actively trying to bring women’s contributions into greater focus, and helping them to be acknowledged. The exercise of giving back to the community continues with the second edition of the award, which has also proved to be a subtle branding exercise, attracting additional footfalls to the brand’s store.
“The initiative is purely community-centric. There is no aggressive sales campaign during the awards show. The women awardees often naturally gravitate towards our displays, and we encourage them to explore our offerings during the final segments of the event. It has also been a great initiative to promote our new Nagpur store. The associated social media visibility that comes with the awards property has piqued client curiosity to explore our innovations in the retail space,” Parekh added.
