Ritika Bhasin Gupta, Owner, Ritika Bhasin, New Delhi
I started out a year ago after establishing myself in the fashion business. So, I had a regular customer base to start with which I could get a foothold in the jewellery business. My concept of revamping old jewellery into something totally contemporary caught on immediately because a lot of people are looking to use their old jewellery. Also, I spread the word on social media which helped me to attract the younger clientele. In addition, I have religiously participated in exhibitions where many people evinced interest in the work I do. And all those enquiries and interest translated 100 per cent into sales. And now my customer base has grown too. In the future I am looking at doing shows abroad so that I am able to tap the NRI base as well as international clients.
