Guwahati: L Gopal Jewellers recently partnered with a Guwahati-based NGO for the second edition of ‘Unstoppable’, an initiative dedicated to supporting women undergoing cancer treatment and celebrating those who have overcome the disease. The event brought together patients, survivors, healthcare professionals, community groups and local supporters for a day focused on awareness, encouragement and shared experiences.

As part of the programme, women battling various forms of cancer walked the ramp wearing diamond-studded gold jewellery from L Gopal Jewellers. The showcase was designed to create a platform where participants could step into the spotlight and be celebrated for their resilience rather than be defined by their illness.

Held at a boutique resort in Guwahati, the event was organized through the combined efforts of the NGO, healthcare professionals and community partners. Alongside the fashion presentation, doctors conducted awareness sessions while cancer survivors shared personal stories about diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Patients currently undergoing treatment also spoke about their experiences, creating meaningful conversations around awareness and emotional support.

Vikash Soni, Director, L Gopal Jewellers, Guwahati, said, “The objective was never to showcase jewellery. We wanted to create a moment where women afflicted with cancer could feel celebrated, confident and appreciated. Watching them walk the ramp with pride and seeing the response from the audience made the experience truly meaningful for everyone involved.”

Soni said the decision to support the initiative stemmed from a desire to contribute to a cause that extends beyond business objectives. The retailer provided financial support to help organize the event and participated in creating an experience that would make the participants feel recognized and valued.

The event attracted more than 200 attendees, including the brand’s customers, representatives from local organizations, social groups and influencers. The retailer noted that the strongest outcome was the personal impact the event had on participants and attendees.

The association also offered L Gopal Jewellers an opportunity to engage with the community in a more meaningful way. Interactions with survivors, patients and healthcare professionals highlighted the importance of awareness, early detection and emotional support, while reinforcing the role businesses can play in supporting social initiatives within their regions.

“Listening to the stories of survivors and those still undergoing treatment was a powerful reminder of the strength people carry through difficult circumstances. Initiatives like Unstoppable 2.0 create important conversations around awareness while giving participants the confidence to celebrate life beyond their diagnosis,” stated Soni.

As jewellery retailers increasingly explore community-focused initiatives, collaborating with local organizations can help strengthen relationships beyond the traditional customer-business interaction. Programmes centred on awareness, inclusion and shared experiences not only create meaningful engagement but also reflect the values that businesses seek to uphold within the communities they serve. Through its support of Unstoppable 2.0, the jeweller contributed to an initiative that placed courage, dignity and resilience at the centre of conversations.
