With children wearing Gokulam jewellery during both the fitting and styling days and the main event day, the brand could assess the comfort, wearability and appeal of its jewellery in real time
Hyderabad: Silver jewellery retailer Gokulam Signature Jewels recently partnered with the Half Scale Fashion League, a premier competitive fashion championship designed for children and teenagers aged two to 18. The event, held in Chennai, brought together fashion, jewellery and young talent, creating a platform that celebrated confidence, creativity and community engagement.
Commenting on the association, Venkata Subbarao Pothuri, Managing Director, Gokulam Signature Jewels, said that he obtained valuable business insights through the event. “At Gokulam Signature Jewels, we believe that meaningful connections are built through memorable experiences. This event was designed to celebrate creativity, confidence and self-expression among children while engaging with families in a warm and interactive environment. It delivered far more – it provided awareness, direct customer interaction, valuable consumer insights, and real-time market research,” he stated, adding that the event also reinforced the brand’s belief that jewellery is timeless, transcending age, and meant to be cherished across generations.
Indeed, the show served as a live consumer study, with children wearing Gokulam jewellery during both the fitting and styling day and the main event day, allowing the brand to assess the comfort, wearability and appeal of its jewellery in real time. Enthusiasm shown by the participants suggested that appreciation for jewellery begins much earlier than many might expect.
The initiative also provided insights into the preferences of future consumers, with younger participants appearing more drawn to design-led, statement-oriented pieces than the minimalistic styles often favoured by today’s buyers.
Pothuri emphasized that success is not measured solely by immediate sales. “If a family leaves with a positive memory and a meaningful connection with our brand, our objective is achieved,” he stated, adding that authentic experiences leave a deeper impact than conventional advertising, helping the brand become part of cherished memories that remain with consumers long after an event has ended.
Speaking about the event’s potential to drive customer engagement, the brand noted, “In this initiative, our real customers were the parents. Watching their children confidently perform on such a grand stage was an emotional and memorable experience for them.”
The brand found a natural fit in the partnership, as fashion and jewellery complement one another and together create a complete lifestyle experience. Such partnerships allow brands to present their collections in an engaging setting while connecting with families beyond the traditional retail environment.
By interacting directly with parents and allowing them to experience the brand through their children’s participation, the initiative helped create positive associations, strengthen brand recall, and lay the foundation for long-term consumer relationships.
The initiative was primarily promoted through Pothuri’s strong personal network, with regular Instagram updates and videos keeping customers engaged with the brand’s activities. The fashion show was further amplified through the brand’s digital platforms and customer network, ensuring widespread awareness among both existing and potential customers.
A standout aspect of the event was its commitment to inclusivity. This was reflected in the participation of children with Down’s syndrome, who walked the ramp alongside other participants and shared the same experience from start to finish. Their presence on the ramp reinforced a core belief behind the initiative, that jewellery is not merely about adornment but about making people feel valued.
Encouraged by the positive response from participants, parents, and audiences, the brand sees this as the beginning of more such collaborations that foster deep customer engagement and brand visibility.
Gokulam Signature Jewels has its flagship showroom in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, and another large store in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh. The brand specializes in handcrafted silver jewellery, traditional bridal sets, and lab-grown diamonds, and also operates 10+ smaller physical locations across India.
