The initiative reflects the brand’s propensity to use festive occasions as platforms to deepen consumer relationships rather than simply drive product sales

Hyderabad: Sri Jagdamba Pearls is using Raksha Bandhan to strengthen its experiential retail proposition, inviting customers to create their own pearl Rakhis at participating stores under its ‘Create, Don’t Just Gift!’ campaign.

The DIY experience allows siblings to handcraft Rakhis using premium pearls and beads, turning the jewellery store into an interactive festive destination. The initiative is designed to drive customer participation and personalization while creating an additional reason for consumers to visit stores during the gifting season.

Alongside the experience, the brand has introduced handcrafted gold and silver Rakhis featuring natural pearls and gemstones, available through its offline stores and online channels. The collection extends the brand’s core pearl proposition into festive gifting while creating a fine-jewellery-led alternative to conventional Rakhis.

Avanish Agarwal, Managing Partner, Sri Jagdamba Pearls, said, “With ‘Create, Don’t Just Gift!’, we wanted to move beyond conventional festive retail and create an experience where customers can participate, personalize and celebrate. Our philosophy has always been to combine the timeless beauty of natural pearls with innovation, authenticity and meaningful customer experiences.”

The initiative reflects the brand’s broader focus on customer-first retail, product authenticity and experience-led engagement, with festive occasions being used as platforms to deepen consumer relationships rather than simply drive product sales.

Deepak Kumar, Marketing Head, Sri Jagdamba Pearls, said, “Jewellery retail has traditionally been about products and transactions. We wanted to make it about participation and memories. Raksha Bandhan is fundamentally about a relationship, and this initiative gives siblings an opportunity to create something together. When customers walk out with a Rakhi, they have made themselves, they take away an experience and a memory, not just a product.”

By combining an in-store activity with a dedicated festive jewellery collection, Sri Jagdamba Pearls is seeking to connect experiential retail with incremental festive gifting opportunities, while reinforcing its positioning around natural pearls and personalized customer experiences.

Sri Jagdamba Pearls, established in 1924, is a legendary Hyderabad-based heritage jeweller specializing in authentic, certified pearls, gold, and diamond jewellery. The omni-channel brand operates through its retail stores in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, and its digital platform. It is set to open new stores in Cochin and Vizag soon.
