Five winners from India and abroad were recognized with cash prizes, certificates and trophies, reinforcing CaratLane’s focus on design-led engagement
Mumbai: CaratLane, along with its silver label Shaya, has announced the winners of Designathon, a global initiative created to identify and support emerging jewellery design talent. The platform had received more than 700 entries from participants across various countries, on the given theme ‘Design for a Better Tomorrow – Shaping Futures’, encouraging designers to address environmental considerations alongside form and function.
The initiative forms part of CaratLane’s broader focus on engagement through design, providing early-career designers with a structured platform to present their ideas and explore how jewellery can respond to social and environmental contexts. Designathon aimed to bridge creativity and practical application by evaluating entries on originality, intent, wearability and commercial viability.

Saumen Bhaumik, Managing Director, CaratLane, said, “At CaratLane, design is at our core. It’s how we create beautiful moments, weave stories, and spark emotion—through our inspiring designs. Designathon started with a simple intent: to give young talent a platform to showcase creativity with purpose. We aren’t just looking to set trends; we want to create experiences that exceed expectations and nurture thinking that contributes to a more conscious world.”
From the total number of entries received, 30 were shortlisted and assessed by an international jury panel. The jury included Shimul Mehta Vyas, Practitioner, Author and Design Educator; Lia Di Gregorio of LDG Atelier, Milan; Preeta Agarwal, Digital Creator and Jewellery Advisor and Meghna Jhaveri, Director – Merchandise and Design, CaratLane.

The final winners represented designers from different geographies who translated the theme into finished jewellery concepts.
