Tanishq also has stores at New Jersey, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Redmond and Atlanta, with Orlando and Boston coming up next
Washington: Tanishq, the jewellery brand from the Tata Group, recently expanded its retail network in the United States with a new showroom in Tysons, Virginia, marking the brand’s first entry into the Greater Washington, DC metropolitan area.
The showroom covers nearly 5,000 square feet, with a selection that includes more than 5,000 designs spanning daily wear, bridal jewellery and statement pieces. The store has recorded strong early demand since its opening, according to the brand, as it seeks to cater to the growing Indian diaspora in the region. The Tysons, Virginia store is the brand’s largest outlet in the United States.
India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, along with Virginia State Senator Kannan Srinivasan, formally inaugurated the store at a launch event attended by Michael McCabe, Resident Director, Tata Sons North America, and community representatives.
Speaking at the event, Suchita Sonalika, Director and Head–North America at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), said: “We are so happy to see this Indian strength of investment stay strong in this country, allowing us to build a stronger narrative of our investments, of our job creation and of course local impact in the US.”
Earlier, Tanishq opened its fifth and sixth US stores at Redmond in Seattle, Washington and Cumming in Atlanta, Georgia, respectively, adding to its existing stores in New Jersey, Houston, Dallas and Chicago in the United States.
Tanishq began its international business with one boutique in Dubai in 2020, and has since expanded to multiple stores spread across the UAE, Qatar, the US and Singapore. The brand aims to emotionally connect with the global Indian diaspora through jewellery.
Tanishq will continue scaling its operations in the US market, with upcoming launches scheduled in Orlando, Florida, and Boston, Massachusetts. It has set an ambitious goal of establishing more than 30 luxury boutiques across the country.
