Leicester: Kalyan Jewellers has opened its first showroom in the United Kingdom, located on Belgrave Road, Leicester, commonly known as the ‘Golden Mile’, the UK’s most prominent jewellery and South Asian retail hub. The launch marks the brand’s entry into the UK market as part of its wider international expansion strategy. The showroom was inaugurated by Pramod Kumar Agarwal, Chairman of the National Gem & Jewellery Council of India (NGJCI), along with Rajesh Kalyanaraman, Executive Director, Kalyan Jewellers.
The Leicester outlet features the brand’s core collections, including Muhurat (wedding jewellery), Mudhra (handcrafted antique jewellery), Nimah (temple jewellery), Antara (wedding diamonds), Rang (precious stones) and Lila (coloured stones and diamonds). The store layout follows the brand’s retail format used across its existing international locations.
Commenting on the launch, Rajesh Kalyanaraman, Executive Director, Kalyan Jewellers, said, “With the inauguration of our showroom on Leicester’s Golden Mile, we aim to create a holistic shopping destination that meaningfully serves the needs of our customers, especially the vibrant Indian diaspora in the UK. The new showroom expands Kalyan Jewellers’ footprint beyond the Middle East and the United States, adding the UK to its list of international markets. It is one of six overseas stores included in the company’s plan to open 90 new locations this year. The expansion is aligned with the brand’s strategy to grow in regions with a significant Indian diaspora.
