Kozhikode: Kerala-based jewellery major Malabar Gold & Diamonds is preparing for a public listing, with plans to go public in the 2027–28 financial year, M P Ahammed, Founder and Chairman, The Malabar Group, has said.

The company is targeting a 20% increase in revenue this fiscal, aiming to build on the Rs 62,000 crore it recorded in 2024–25, despite continued volatility in gold prices.

Malabar Gold aims to add 90 new showrooms this year—60 in India and 30 overseas—as part of its expansion plan. Currently, it operates 391 outlets across 19 States in India and international markets.

“We are 100% thinking of listing our company on the stock market,” Ahammed was quoted by news agencies as saying. He explained that legal processes are in motion, particularly the consolidation of subsidiaries and LLPs. “The legalization for the stock market listing is taking time. The work is in progress. We target to list in 2027-28 financial year,” Ahammed elaborated.

To stay competitive amid increasing gold prices, the company is adapting its offerings to maintain affordability and customer interest.”We are coming out with different caratage and designing products without compromising the looks so that everyone can still afford gold jewellery,” said O Asher, Managing Director – India Operations. Malabar Gold & Diamonds.

While rising prices have impacted overall sales volumes, the company is offsetting the effects by growing its share of the market, Asher added.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, established in 1993, is the flagship company of the diversified business conglomerate, the Malabar Group. It has a strong retail network of more than 390 showrooms spread across India, the Middle East, the Far East, the USA, the UK, Canada and Australia.
