Bhima Jewellery sets out to support students with launch of Educational Scholarship 2025 in Tamil Nadu

While being part of the brand’s wider corporate-level social responsibility initiatives, the scholarship is being launched specially for the Tamil Nadu region for the first time. By supporting young learners, the brand’s aim is to build trust within the communities it serves

Madurai: Bhima Jewellery has introduced the Educational Scholarship 2025, aimed at supporting students from Grades IX to XII in their academic journey. This scholarship programme, while being part of the brand’s wider corporate-level social responsibility initiatives, is being launched specially for the Tamil Nadu region for the first time. By supporting young learners, the brand’s aim is to build trust within the communities it serves.

The Educational Scholarship 2025 signals the brand’s focus on long-term social engagement through education. “We already have the Educational Scholarship initiative at the corporate level. But this time we are launching this plan exclusively for the Tamil Nadu region,” stated Sudhir Kapoor, Managing Director, Bhima Jewellery. Eligible students can apply by scanning the QR code posted on Bhima Jewellery’s official website and social media platforms, or by visiting the Bhima Jewellery showroom in Madurai before May 31, 2025.

The scholarship is for students pursuing higher secondary education, and recipients are chosen based on their academic performance. “We have a certain rank for students. Their percentage of marks in Grades IX to XII is considered. In each grade, we have three sections: Prize 1, Prize 2 and Prize 3,” Kapoor explained.

The scholarship also has considerations for students from special categories under it. “There are special sections – there is an economically weaker section, as well as a physically handicapped section,” said Kapoor, adding that while the final number of beneficiaries is yet to be determined, more than 100 registrations have already been received by the brand, and expectations are that each branch of the company will draw 500+ applications.

When asked why the brand’s focus is on students from Grades IX to XII, Kapoor explained, “This is the first time in Tamil Nadu; so we have planned for only higher secondary students.” He noted that the scholarship is part of Bhima Jewellery’s broader community engagement efforts, which also include support for orphanages and general public welfare. “All these initiatives offer meaningful support to beneficiaries and align with the brand’s community support goals,” he added.

Looking ahead, Bhima Jewellery sees this as a step towards deeper engagement with its audiences at an early stage. “As the brand is slowly evolving the corporate structure, we are increasing such activities in our showrooms,” Kapoor said.

Founded in 1925, Bhima Jewellery has established itself as one of India’s leading jewellery brands. With more than 60 stores across five South Indian States including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana, as well as four stores in the UAE, the brand continues to evolve and target new frontiers.
