Mumbai: Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (TBZ-The Original) has been a steadfast supporter of the Pehlay Akshar Foundation’s education-driven mission for the past three years. At the heart of this partnership lies the innovative ‘English Room’ initiative — a dynamic learning model designed to enhance English proficiency and nurture a growth mindset among school students, and also train teachers to amplify its impact in the classroom.
The brand has partnered with the Pehlay Akshar Foundation to support the English Room programme, starting with the construction of two English Rooms at Gilderlane and Balaram schools under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). This initial phase directly benefited over 900 students and 32 teachers. Most recently, the brand reopened the English Room at School No. 42 in Thane, further extending its impact.
“Through this initiative, TBZ is trying to focus on creating safe learning spaces for children and enhancing English language literacy,” explained Binaisha Zaveri, Director of TBZ-The Original. “In association with Pehlay Akshar Foundation, this initiative give us an opportunity for branding our CSR.”
According to the brand, this association reinforces its ethos of empowerment and progress, positioning TBZ-The Original as more than just a heritage jewellery brand — it becomes a brand committed to meaningful social impact. This, in turn, helps build brand goodwill and emotional connection with audiences who value purpose-driven brands.
At the core of the initiative is a dual-focus approach that supports both students and teachers. Students engage in structured thematic learning designed to improve both academic and conversational English, while teachers receive intensive training in classroom management, inclusive learning practices, and the integration of digital and AI tools. Full-day workshops are complemented by peer-learning sessions at the school level, ensuring that teaching strategies are reinforced and seamlessly applied. Additionally, the training aids in formulating School Development Plans, a roadmap for improving a school’s teaching, learning and overall environment, typically spanning 3-5 years.
Meanwhile, on the expansion front, the brand simultaneously launched two mega stores located in two vibrant cities – Ahmedabad and Hyderabad– on April 24. The new store launched at CG Road in Ahmedabad is its second one in the city. The store opened at IT hub Kondapur is its third retail outlet in Hyderabad.
Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri Limited (TBZ-The Original) is a renowned and trusted jewellery retailer with a legacy of more than 160 years. The year 1864 saw the beginnings of the brand in the bustling lanes of Zaveri Bazar, Mumbai. Over the decades, it has grown to a retail strength of 34 stores across 27 cities in 12 States of India, and continues to set new benchmarks in quality and craftsmanship.
