P. N. Gadgil & Sons organizes workshop on adolescent psychology at Baramati
‘Exploring the Minds of Adolescents’ was organized at Gadima Auditorium of Vidya Pratishthan in Baramati under P. N. Gadgil & Sons’ social responsibility programme
Baramati: When entering pre-adolescence, there is hesitation among young girls and parents about the physical and mental changes that will occur. Recognizing the need for workshops on this subject, a program initiated to educate school students on this matter is highly praised. This statement was made by the esteemed Sunetra Pawar, founder of the Baramati Textile Park and a Trustee of Vidya Pratishthan.
A one-day workshop titled ‘Exploring the Minds of Adolescents’ was organized at the Gadima Auditorium of the Vidya Pratishthan in Baramati under P. N. Gadgil & Sons’ social responsibility programme through the Karbhari Anna Charitable Foundation. This workshop was organized by Pawar, along with Ananya Charitable Foundation’s director, Prashant Satav, and Amit Modak, CEO, P. N. Gadgil & Sons. More than a thousand students participated in this workshop. Experts of the Pune-based Reflection Foundation guided the students on topics such as adolescent psychology, child sexual abuse, and self-preservation in a one-day workshop.
Workshops on this subject are conducted for young girls from cities. However, there is still reluctance to discuss these topics openly in talukas or rural areas. P N. Gadgil & Sons have decided to take the initiative to raise awareness about physical and mental changes that occur in pre-adolescent girls when entering pre-adolescence. Modak said, “This program has been initiated for the first time this year, and similar workshops will be organized for pre-adolescent girls from other parts of Maharashtra in the next academic year.”
“We do not blend social causes with our nature of businesses; instead, we keep them separate since they serve different purposes. The majority of our CSR initiatives are outside of our business domain; yet, we have walked for betterment based on societal needs,” added Modak. ‘Exploring the Minds of Adolescents’ aims to teach girls about teenage psychology, child sexual abuse, and self-protection. Another project is milk distribution for the needy, which we are conducting in many parts of the state regardless of our presence. “We have started putting sanitary napkin disposal machines in rural and Tasil areas,” Modak said.
