The brand grants scholarships to the tune of Rs 30-35 lakh each year through the Delight & Divine Charitable Trust, set up by its Director, Sunil Laxmanrao Gandevikar

While interacting with customers, suppliers and employees, Sunil Laxmanrao Gandevikar, Director of Sara Gandevikar Jewellers, Vadodara, heard of their individual as well as social problems, and became deeply concerned about them. His sensitive nature and desire to give back to society led to the launch of the non-profit organization, Delight & Divine Charitable Trust, which has been helping underprivileged families in Vadodara District for seven years now. One of its main thrusts is enabling the education of financially weak but academically brilliant students.

Recently, the brand’s social media pages publicized the scholarship for this year, and the stipulation that it is open to students from underprivileged families who have obtained more than 80% marks in their Board examinations. Customers of Sara Gandevikar Jewellers were also informed about the initiative to increase its reach.

“We have been providing scholarships to brilliant but financially needy students since 2016. The education of approximately 700-800 students of Vadodara District is sponsored by us every year. The students are selected on the basis of their academic performance and financial status,” says Sunil Laxmanrao Gandevikar, who joined the family business when he was just 20, and worked to ensure high growth of Brand Sara Gandevikar Jewellers over the next 40 years.

Not just financial assistance for education, the Trust also provides a stage for students from financially weak backgrounds to increase their self-confidence and realize their talent, with personal and social development programmes. It functions with the motto ‘We serve happiness’ and encourages students to challenge themselves and build high aspirations.
