IIJS is a ray of hope for businesses in these dark times
Suken Shah of Sparsh Jewellers has great expectations from the IIJS Virtual this year. While he asks buyers to be a part of the show, his advice for the new normal is simple—build your stock.
What is your view on the new virtual format of IIJS?
We should welcome the show wholeheartedly. These are dark times and the show is a ray of hope for businesses. This is also the best time for buyers to start procuring jewellery for the upcoming season.
What can retailers expect from you at the show this year?
We specialise in polki diamond fusion jewellery. This Diwali, we are coming up with a new collection of statement chokers, bold necklaces, pendants and danglers. The line has been inspired by the Mughal era, which forms a cornerstone of our rich heritage. We also have our eye on the wedding season and have an exclusive line of necklaces planned. Again, we have tapped the price, so our buyer can sell easily. When it comes to trends, we found that pastels are new attraction points for millennials. We want to capitalise on that.
What is your advice to the retailer looking at the next 6 months?
I would like to request all retailers from India and overseas to visit us at the IIJS show. We are sure they will find wonderful partners in us if they look through our latest collection. People have not bought any jewellery in four months. But with the wedding season in sight, it is the right time to start buying jewellery and building your stock. If Covid comes under control, the upcoming season will be great in terms of sales.
