Vadodara: Sara Gandevikar Jewellers recently turned a section of its showroom into a space for devotional music, hosting a kirtan session that brought together customers, invited guests and walk-in visitors. Organized within the ‘Heritage Hall’, a dedicated bridal jewellery floor within Sara Gandevikar Jewellers’ showroom, the event formed part of a broader effort to make the retail space a place where customers can engage with art, culture and community alongside jewellery shopping.
Around 80 people attended the programme, held during business hours, and designed to blend naturally with the showroom environment without interrupting regular retail activity.
The Heritage Hall is designed around India’s architectural and artistic traditions, and is used to showcase wedding collections including temple, polki, jadau and antique jewellery, while offering bridal families a more private and immersive shopping experience.
“We have always believed that a jewellery showroom should be more than a place where transactions happen. When people walk into our space, we want them to experience warmth, culture and a sense of belonging. The kirtan created exactly that atmosphere, and customers appreciated being part of something beyond shopping,” said Ramanand Gandevikar, Director, Sara Gandevikar Jewellers.
The retailer says the event is part of a larger philosophy that has shaped its engagement with the local community over the years. Above the showroom, Sara Gandevikar Jewellers operates a dedicated 4,000 sq. ft. Art and Cultural Centre, where artistes regularly host painting exhibitions, music performances, dance workshops, literary sessions and cultural programmes. The venue is made available at a nominal cost, encouraging artistes and cultural organizations to use the space while bringing new audiences into the brand’s ecosystem.
“Our jewellery is inspired by heritage, so it feels natural for us to support the traditions, music and art that are equally rooted in our culture. When customers see that commitment over time, they understand what the brand stands for. That creates goodwill which cannot be built through advertising alone,” Gandevikar said.
The Heritage Hall itself was conceived as an extension of this philosophy. Its interiors feature traditional thikri mirror work, hand-painted artwork and décor inspired by Indian heritage, complementing the bridal collections displayed within the space. By hosting cultural programmes inside the showroom as well as at its adjoining Art and Cultural Centre, Sara Gandevikar Jewellers has created an environment where jewellery retail and culture co-exist naturally.
Sara Gandevikar Jewellers operates three stores in Vadodara, with its gold jewellery and silver stores in Dandia Bazar, and another store located at Waghodia Road.
