Pune: Between June 20 and July 10, 2025, Ranka Jewellers undertook a brand-led outreach campaign to mark Doctors’ Day, covering 25+ hospitals and felicitating 80+ doctors across Pune. The initiative, driven across all 14 Ranka Jewellers stores, involved visiting hospitals, greeting doctors with flowers, cake and sweets, and handing out exclusive offer vouchers as part of the retailer’s business strategy.

The offers were valid only for doctors. According to the brand, the initiative was designed to build goodwill while also communicating offers and schemes to a new segment of customers. “We associated with Healing Hands hospital group and visited seven to eight of their centres,” said Dr Ramesh Ranka, Director, Ranka Jewellers and Founder of Ranka Hospital. “In total, our teams visited around 25 to 30 hospitals during the campaign period.”

The engagement was structured in two formats: either the store teams visited the hospitals or doctors were invited to the stores. In both cases, the felicitation was followed by the distribution of vouchers, pamphlets about the jeweller’s Golden Plexi scheme, and information about ongoing offers. The Golden Plexi scheme, a savings plan offered by the brand, was highlighted during the visits to increase awareness among a targeted audience base.

“We did not take jewellery to the hospitals,” said Dr Ranka. “The idea was to create brand recall and share offers directly. Some doctors have already begun visiting our stores after the campaign.”

The brand considers the campaign part of a larger engagement strategy to increase touchpoints and visibility during seasonal windows like the wedding season and local festivals. “We are running the Star Bride campaign simultaneously, and reaching out to professionals like doctors helps create interest and drive store visits during this period,” Dr Ranka added.

While direct attribution of footfalls or sales due to this campaign will take time to assess across multiple stores, initial results have shown some conversions, and the brand plans to continue similar initiatives in the future.

Founded in 1879 in Pune, Ranka Jewellers today operates 14 stores across Maharashtra.
