Guwahati: Guwahati-based retailer Jewellery Hub recently marked a distinct shift in its customer engagement strategy by associating with an event centred around devotional music in Guwahati, and adding to it a curated retail experience. The evening saw more than 1,200 attendees, including a large number of women, sharing an experience that went beyond transactional retail to build astrong cultural connection.

The event featured a live performance by bhajan musician duo Prachi & Raghav, presenting devotional music in a format that connected with both young and older audiences. The concept of the evening made spirituality and social gathering intersect, offering Jewellery Hub an opportunity to engage with its audiences through shared cultural expression.

Rahul Singhal, Director, Jewellery Hub, said, “The event formatenabled a different kind of engagement. It was not about selling at that moment, but about being present with our customers in a setting they value.”

Ahead of the event, Jewellery Hub activated its social media platforms to build awareness and drive attendance. Just before the performance began, the brand hosted a high tea gathering where it showcased its jewellery designs, offering attendees a close look at its collections in an interactive setting. While not structured as a sales platform, it enabled customers to associate the brand with moments of cultural significance, influencing future purchase intent.

“Customers today value experiences. When a brand becomes part of those experiences, it stays relevant in their minds beyond the store visit,” observed Singhal. The initiative also helped Jewellery Hub access a wide audience base, including attendees who may not have previously interacted with the brand in a retail environment. Communication after the event continued to engage audiences.

Initiatives like these support brand-building by shifting the focus from immediate transactions to long-term relationships. Events rooted in shared cultural contexts allow retailers to build trust, increase recall, and create entry points for new customers. By engaging audiences outside the store, brands can expand their reach and strengthen customer acquisition funnels without relying solely on conventional advertising.

Singhal concluded, “This is about building a connection that continues after the event. When customers relate to the brand in their personal spaces, it reflects in how they choose where to shop.”

Jewellery Hub is a family-run retail brand, specializing in bespoke gold, diamond and Polki jewellery. The business operates three stores across Delhi and Guwahati, along with two international locations in Dubai and London.
