Mumbai: Indian jewellery brands enjoyed powerful moments on the global and domestic stage, with high-profile celebrities and cultural icons choosing home-grown designs for marquee appearances this week. From international galas to film launches and fashion shoots, these sightings underscore the growing influence, story-telling appeal, and cross-border resonance of Indian jewellery in contemporary style narratives.

Vikas Khanna in Swadesh and Tanishq

Celebrity chef and restaurateur Vikas Khanna, who is on the ‘Innovators’ section of the Time 100 Most Influential People of 2026 list, went to the gala in New York wearing a peacock brooch from Swadesh and a ring and bracelet from Tanishq. “In our culture, jewellery is never just jewellery. It is a grandmother’s blessing, a story passed through generations, a piece of home you carry wherever you go,” Khanna wrote on Instagram, expressing his pride at representing India on the global platform.

Singer and rapper JennieKim (known popularly by her first name), a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink, wore earrings from Swadeshat the Time 100 Most Influential People of 2026 gala in New York. Appearing on the ‘Artists’ section of the list, she spoke about her jewellery post the event, naming the brand, which went viral after being picked up by international media.

Rihanna in Manish Malhotra High Jewellery

Singer Rihanna added diamonds and jewels from Manish Malhotra High Jewellery to her outfit, including the designer’s signature hath phool, while celebrating her make-up brand Fenty Beauty’s first immersive pop-up created exclusively for India – titled ‘Fenty Beauty Ki Haveli’- at Phoenix Palladium mall in Mumbai. Interestingly, ‘Fenty’ is the actual surname of singer Robyn ‘Rihanna’ Fenty.

Actor Genelia Deshmukh was spotted pairing heirloom jewellery in blush hues from Sanzany Jewels with a soft pink Nauvari saree, at the trailer launch of ‘Raja Shivaji’, the magnum opus on the legendary Maratha king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, that has been written, directed and produced by Genelia’s husband Riteish Deshmukh.

Femina Miss India World 2026 Sadhvi Sail wore jewellery from Apala by Sumit for the magazine cover shoot, after the grand finale of the 61st Femina Miss India contest at which she won the title and was chosen to represent India at the 74th edition of Miss World in Tanzania in May 2027.
