Mumbai: Diamond jewellery exporter Goldiam International Ltd has raised Rs 202 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) to expand its lab-grown diamond jewellery retail brand, Origem. This marks perhaps the largest funding round to date in the lab-grown diamond retail space in India.

Goldiam had launched six Origem outlets in the past 10 months, and the company has plans to open 70-90 Origem stores across India in the next 18-24 months.

“With the support of marquee investors, we are now well-positioned to accelerate Origem’s expansion and bring lab-grown diamond jewellery to a much wider audience across India. Our vision is to make diamonds more sustainable, accessible and aspirational,” said Anmol Bhansali, Director at Goldiam International Ltd.

The company stated that its export business continues to expand across regions such as the Middle East, Israel and Australia. It added that Goldiam has managed to shield its business from the impact of US tariff moves by manufacturing some gold castings domestically.

Goldiam claimed that it has a debt-free balance sheet, strong cash flow generation, and a history of returning Rs 200 crore to shareholders via dividends and buybacks over the past five years. It said that the company is well-positioned to deliver sustainable growth and enhanced shareholder value.

On a consolidated basis, Goldiam expects to deliver 15-20% growth in both sales and profitability this year. The company attributed this growth to its resilient global B2B business and a fast-scaling Indian B2B retail presence.

Origem combines Goldiam’s expertise of supplying fine jewellery to top US retailers with a design-led approach crafted for Indian buyers. The company differentiates itself through cost leadership and contemporary designs drawn from its global bestsellers.

It offers a customer-first experience with ring builders, lifetime exchange, return policies, and customization tools, with all products certified by third-party grading labs.

Goldiam International first forayed into retail with the opening of an Origem store in Borivali, Mumbai in October, 2024. The listed company is a three‐decade old exporter of diamond jewellery. It has ventured into responsibly sourced diamonds, targeting the mid‐to‐affordable diamond and bridal jewellery segments. Goldiam has a dedicated sales office in New York, with design teams in both India and the USA.
