Mumbai: Actor Tillotama Shome is headlining ‘Stare’, a new campaign by Bhavya Ramesh Jewellery and fashion label NorBlack NorWhite, marking the launch of their collaborative 13-piece jewellery collection inspired by Indian talismanic symbols.

Shot in Kerala, the campaign also features actor Karthika Nair. Through cinematic story-telling, Stare explores themes of feminine strength, mysticism and protection, presenting jewellery as an expression of identity rather than traditional adornment.

The collection, crafted in silver and gold, reimagines familiar protective motifs such as eyes, snakes, lemons, chillies, moons and fangs into contemporary statement pieces. Inspired by the concept of protecting oneself from the “unwanted gaze”, the designs reinterpret symbols commonly associated with warding off the evil eye and transform them into wearable jewellery.

Rather than following the conventional bridal-focused narrative most often seen in jewellery advertising, the campaign adopts a fashion-film approach. Kerala’s landscapes and folklore-inspired visuals create an immersive backdrop, while Tillotama Shome’s performance reinforces the campaign’s central message of confidence, resilience and self-expression.

The collaboration brings together the distinctive creative identities of Bhavya Ramesh Jewellery and NorBlack NorWhite, both known for drawing inspiration from Indian craft traditions while presenting them through a contemporary lens. By integrating product design with strong visual storytelling, the campaign demonstrates how jewellery brands can build deeper consumer engagement through culture-led narratives.

‘Stare’ reflects a shift towards story-driven campaigns that move beyond showcasing products alone. By leveraging influential creative talent, meaningful symbolism and cinematic execution, the campaign offers a fresh example of how brands can differentiate themselves and connect with audiences through story-telling.

Bhavya Ramesh Jewellery operates three physical retail stores in India — two in Mumbai and one in New Delhi.
