Mumbai: Tanishq marked its 30th anniversary with a unique print advertising innovation that celebrated the people who have been part of the brand’s journey over the past three decades. The jewellery retailer partnered with The Times of India to launch a four-page pullout ad featuring a mirror innovation, turning a newspaper advertisement into a heartfelt tribute to the customers and communities who have shaped its legacy.

The front page of the pullout had a circular sticker, with the line ‘Look who has made the last 30 years so beautiful’ printed under it. When anyone peeled off the sticker, they would find a mirror and their own reflection in it. The next few pagesconveyed a message of gratitude, acknowledging those who have contributed to Tanishq’s growth since its inception.

The campaign reflected the brand’s belief that its success has been built through the countless milestones and celebrations it has shared with generations of customers. From weddings and anniversaries to festivals and personal achievements, Tanishq positioned the initiative as a tribute to the people who have given meaning to these cherished moments by purchasing jewellery over the last 30 years.

By incorporating such an innovation, the campaign created an element of surprise while reinforcing the emotional connect that has remained central to the brand’s identity. Rather than presenting a conventional anniversary message, the ad encouraged readers to participate in the experience, and savour the message symbolic of the relationship between the brand and its customers.

The initiative also highlights how jewellery brands can leverage innovative print ads to capture consumer attention in an increasingly digital-first media landscape. Interactive newspaper executions remain relatively uncommon in the sector, making the campaign stand out through both its creative presentation and emotional story-telling.

By placing people at the centre of its milestone celebration, Tanishq shifted the spotlight from its achievements to the trust and loyalty of customers who have supported its growth over the years.

The four-page ad served as both a commemorative piece and an expression of appreciation, demonstrating how traditional print media can be re-imagined through innovation to deliver an immersive brand experience.

Tanishq operates more than 450 stores in India and close to 30 stores overseas across the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Singapore and the USA.
