Limited to 20 guests, the curated event enabled direct engagement, story-telling and customization discussions about the brand’s jewellery pieces
Kochi: Genesis Diamonds by Deepak Toms hosted the first edition of ‘Vault of Genesis’, a private event created to introduce a new platform for presenting select jewellery narratives and strengthening direct engagement with clients. The initiative was designed in a controlled, invitation-only format that allowed the brand to present its design direction through focused story-telling rather than a conventional retail launch.
The first edition centred on bespoke pearl jewellery titled ‘Secrets of the Ocean’. Each piece was developed around an individual story, with pearls sourced specifically for the designs. This approach reflected Genesis Diamonds’ intent to highlight process, sourcing and design intent within a setting that encouraged conversation and personal interaction. The brand hosted 20 guests, comprising long-standing patrons and high-net-worth individuals familiar with its work.
Speaking on the intent behind the platform, Tessa Davis, Director, Genesis Diamonds, said, “Vault of Genesis was created to give our clients a deeper understanding of how our jewellery comes together. This first edition focused on pearls because every design carried a story, and we wanted our guests to see how sourcing, design and intent come together in a finished piece.”
The event was structured around a curated presentation of the jewellery, supported by one-on-one discussions and the option of customization. Rather than focusing on scale, the brand chose to prioritize time and attention for a select few, ensuring each guest could engage directly with the designs and the team behind them. According to the brand, this format allowed for clearer conversations around craftsmanship and design choices.
Guest response centred on two aspects: the organization of the event and the selection of pearl jewellery on display. The format helped create business enquiries and follow-up discussions, reinforcing the role of such gatherings in relationship-building. For Genesis Diamonds, the outcome supported the belief that smaller, focused events can play a role in driving both engagement and sales.
Commenting on the response, Davis added, “What stood out for us was how the guests connected with the stories behind the pieces and how valued they felt during the event. That response confirmed that this format works for us and for the clients we serve.”
‘Vault of Genesis’ is expected to continue as a recurring platform, with future editions exploring different jewellery themes. Through this initiative, Genesis Diamonds aims to reinforce its position within the premium jewellery space while using curated events as a tool for growth and client retention.
Operating from its flagship store in Kochi, Genesis Diamonds is an initiative of Deepak Toms Diamonds, a leading gold and diamond jewellery group based in Kerala.
