Vadipatti: Thangamayil Jewellery Limited recently organized an eye camp at Vadipatti in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai district as part of its ongoing community outreach efforts. The initiative aimed to address basic eye-care needs while building sustained engagement with local residents across age groups.
The eye camp focused on early detection of vision issues, prevention of avoidable blindness and awareness around eye health. It also sought to identify vision concerns among children and senior citizens and encourage the use of spectacles where required. Referral and follow-up support were provided for participants who required further medical attention.
Around 200 people attended the campconducted by two ophthalmologists and two optometrists, supported by staff members who managed registrations and patient flow.
Speaking about the initiative, Ba. Ramesh, Joint Managing Director, Thangamayil Jewellery, said, “Access to basic eye care can make a difference at the community level. Through this camp, we aimed to ensure that people in Vadipatti receive timely vision tests and guidance.”
