Currently leading Titan’s Tanishq India operations across retail, marketing, and merchandising, Narayan has been at the helm of the Tanishq India business since April 2020. He succeeds Ajoy Chawla, who moves to his new role as MD of the company with effect from January 1, 2026

Mumbai: Titan Company, part of the Tata Group, has announced that Arun Narayan, who currently leads Titan’s Tanishq India business overseeing retail, marketing, and merchandising, will take charge as CEO of the Jewellery Division effective January 1, 2026. He will succeed Ajoy Chawla, who moves to his new role as Managing Director of the company with effect from January 1, 2026.

Narayan, a postgraduate from IIM Calcutta and a Tata Administrative Services cadre member, has nearly three decades of experience within the Tata Group and Titan across retail, marketing, and sales. Since April 2020, he has steered the Tanishq India business, having earlier held leadership roles including Regional Business Head (West), Helios Business Head, and National Sales and Retail Head for Titan watches.

Meanwhile, Kuruvilla Markose, currently CEO of Titan’s International Business Division, will succeed Suparna Mitra as CEO of the Watches Division effective August 13, 2025. Markose joined Titan in 2015 as Chief Digital Officer, and has led the company’s international expansion across watches, jewellery, and eyewear.

These leadership changes are part of Titan’s structured transition plan, aligning with its growth ambitions across domestic and international markets.

In May this year, the Board of Directors of Titan Company Limited had approved the succession plan for the Managing Director of the Company. C. K. Venkataraman (Venkat), the current Managing Director, will retire from the services of the Company on December 31, 2025 on attaining the age of superannuation as per the Tata Group’s retirement policy. Ajoy Chawla, currently the Chief Executive Officer of the company’s Jewellery Division, will succeed Venkat as the Managing Director with effect from January 1, 2026.

Titan’s jewellery arm remains the cornerstone of its business, driving major revenues and profits. It has premium offerings, and is expanding its retail footprint (both domestic and global), with a multi-brand strategy spanning Tanishq, Zoya, Mia and CaratLane. Titan’s Jewellery Division posted 18% year-on-year growth in Q1FY26, according to regulatory filings. This segment saw the addition of 19 new stores, taking its total store count to 1,089 in India. While the company added just one international store in the quarter, it saw a doubling of Tanishq’s business in the United States.
