Kolkata: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers launched a comprehensive awareness campaign titled ‘The Future of Earth is in Our Hands’. Under the banner of the new campaign, the jewellery house has called on individuals and communities to address the root causes of global warming and work towards reversing environmental damage before it is too late.
Notably, for years, the brand has voiced concern over the dangers of unchecked deforestation and the looming threats of global warming, consistently using its platform to raise awareness about the planet’s fragile ecological balance. This year’s campaign continues that commitment, with a focus on both outreach and on-ground impact.
The brand started tree plantation drives at Swarnagram Shikshalaya in Warengbari, Tripura, and Bela Saha Smriti Vidyamandir in the Sundarbans, West Bengal. Additionally, quick-growing coconut saplings have been distributed to villagers in the Sundarban region to help develop a sustainable green cover. The brand has also made saplings available through all its showrooms to encourage public participation in the drive.
Speaking on the initiative, Rupak Saha, Director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, said, “The objective is to be actively involved in this much-needed exercise to protect the environment of our Mother Earth and spread the message for a greener world.”
