The move is aimed at strengthening the brand’s salience in North-east India and standing in support of young women of the region, while targeting increased revenue growth

Guwahati: In a move to raise brand visibility, Senco Gold and Diamonds has associated as a sponsor with the prestigious Miss Assam 2024 event, taking place in Guwahati. With more than seven stores in the North-eastern States, Senco holds considerable sway in the jewellery market of the region.

Notably, Senco’s extensive presence in West Bengal and Odisha is central to its popularity in the North-east due to the close geographical proximity.    

An Instagram post from the organizers @missassamorg thanked Senco for being an essential part of their journey, highlighting the impact of the brand’s contribution to the event’s overall success. The post read: “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Senco (@sencogoldanddiamonds) for their incredible support as our Partner for Miss Assam 2024! Your contribution has played a vital role in making this event a grand success. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for helping us elevate the platform for these talented young women.” The partnership showcases the brand’s commitment to empowering young women in the region, and helps it connect with them.

Eastern India accounts for 65%-70% of the company’s total revenue of more than Rs 4,000 crore. Outside the East, the brand intends to focus on the North India jewellery market, and plans to make further inroads into it. After the company’s 30th AGM held recently — the first after Senco’s listing — MD Suvankar Sen said, “We want to make the revenue share of North India 25%.” He pointed out that the share of diamond jewellery is more in North India compared to Eastern India.

Meanwhile, Senco recently placed a bid to acquire omnichannel jewellery retailer Melorra as it seeks to expand its presence in the e-commerce space.
