Fourth edition of Bharat Diamond Week held with much fanfare in Mumbai
Chief Guest Dr M’zée Fula-Ngenge, Chairman, African Diamond Council, spoke of the strong bond that the Indian diamond industry shares with the African nations, and expressed support to foster relationships and strengthen the supply chain between them
The fourth edition of Bharat Diamond Week was launched at the Bharat Diamond Bourse with much fanfare recently. Dr M’zée Fula-Ngenge, Chairman, African Diamond Council, was the chief guest along with CP Singh Chauhan, IRS, Jt Development Commissioner SEEPZ and Senthilnathan, Chairman ECGC.
Dr Ngenge in his inaugural address spoke of the strong bond that the Indian diamond industry shares with the African nations and expressed support to foster relationships and strengthening the supply chain between India and African mining economies.
Anoop Mehta in his welcome note spoke on the importance of Bharat Diamond Week for the industry members and expressed happiness on the launch of BDW after a hiatus of three years due to COVID 19 restrictions.
CP Singh Chauhan appraised the industry members on the key role that SEEPZ plays for the gems and jewellery sector in terms of supporting exports complimented by the world-class facility that SEEPZ houses. Senthilnathan, Chairman, ECGC spoke on the important role that the entity plays for the export sector in India and applauded Bharat Diamond Bourse initiatives. The sponsors and international delegation heads were felicitated for their support with a memento.
Mehul Shah, Vice President of Bharat Diamond Bourse, in his vote of thanks expressed his gratitude to the guests as well the sponsors and the organizing team for their ardent support to make the 4th edition of Bharat Diamond Week a success. He said that BDW was indeed an excellent opportunity for diamond companies to showcase their exquisite creations. In his address he urged ECGC to open up a branch within Bharat Diamond Bourse which will help the entire SMEs in the diamond sector.
The Bharat Diamond Week ran from April 6 to 8, 2023 with over 55 exhibitors showcasing exquisite diamonds, diamond jewellery, technology as well lab-grown diamonds.
