Success of Trade Diamond Jewellery Exhibition in Surat prompts organizer SJMA to make it annual affair
The Surat Jewellery Manufacturers’Association (SJMA) and Surat Jewel Tech Foundation has organised a B2B diamond jewellery exhibition in Surat from 27th to 29th November, 2021 at Surat International Exhibition & Convention Centre.
It was inaugurated on by Union Minister of State for Textiles and Railways, Darshana Jardosh and Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal addressed the exhibition virtually.
This exhibition’s chief objective was to promote Surat’s jewellery industry and it registered 8,000 buyers, Jayanti Savaliya President of SJMA told KNN.
He said that the event witnessed participation from across India while retailers and wholesalers were only visitors.
Savaliya informed that SJMA will be hosting this exhibition in December every year for the sector to network and grow.
Commerce Minister Goyal credited the Surat’s jewellery industry for working on the vision of local products going global.
He said that the industry also needs to tap into fashion jewellery and try to understand the market. The Union Minister pressed on a collaborative approach in view of engaging in business with other countries leveraging India’s part fusion jewellery.
Speaking about accelerating exports, he highlighted the importance of lab-grown diamond industry, and said that it will help startups and generate more employment.
