Manufacturers display awe-inspiring heritage jewellery collections at IIJS 2021
- Various colourstones used
- Rose cut finish with Victorian look
- Meena and chitai work prominent
- Designs from Jaipur’s heritage sites reflect in jewellery
Heritage jewellery has had an illustrious time at IIJS 2021. The category has seen absolutely no dip in demand despite pandemic and the season ahead is compelling every retailer to show their best bets in heritage ranges. In this segment, Achal Jewels have launched authentic jewellery items such as Huslee, Choker, etc, keeping in mind the North and South India markets.
Giving more details, Vikas Mehta, Director, Achal Jewels said, “For IIJS, we have come up with new heritage jewellery collections in harams, chokers, round necklaces, etc. We have used different kinds of colour stones such as Zambian and Russian emeralds, rubies, sapphires, polkis in the collection. We regularly update the design of the heritage jewellery with every launch and thus the new IIJS special collection is completely different from the previous collections. To give an antique look to the heritage items, we have used a rose cut finish with a Victorian look.”

As far as jewellery weight is concerned, the pieces range between 50-300 grams.
Geeta Shyam Jewellers has launched kundan, polki, jadau jewellery along with Russian Emerald as part of its heritage jewellery offering. They have also launched kundan jewellery sets using red rubies in the bridal category. Meena and chitai work has also been used extensively in the heritage jewellery collections.
Praveen Kumar Agrawal, Director, Geeta Shyam Jewellers, said, “In our Heritage collection, we have used the look of Jaipur’s two iconic heritage sites, Hawa Mahal, Govind Ji temple and Ayodhya’s Ram temple. With gold rates going up during the global pandemic, buyers are looking for lightweight jewellery. Most of our newly launched collections are lighter in weight but due to its spread, the jewellery looks big to the eyes.”The earrings start from 40 grams, whereas the necklace sets start from 50 grams.
This gives a suitable blend of inspirations both from the Western and Eastern vintage styles for the buyer to pick his favourite from the heritage offerings at IIJS 2021.
