GJEPC using top-notch healthcare and tech for Covid safety norms at IIJS 2021

A lot of hope rests on IIJS Premiere 2021. Shifting base from Mumbai after over three decades, GJEPC found Bengaluru as the next ideal venue for the biggest B2B jewellery trade event. However, the biggest and most obvious factor for IIJS 2021 to be in-person is its safety norms, after ICMR head Dr Samiran Panda has cautioned the medical fraternity of a rise in infection in several states again. Thankfully, GJEPC has gone all out to promote Covid safety as per government protocols.

To start with, the authorities have been ready with complete information of every attendee months before. Sabyasachi ray, executive director, GJEPC India, maintains that the team has collected information about the vaccination status of each attendee. “One dose of vaccine is mandatory for participation in IIJS 2021. In which case, a Covid-19 negative RT-PCR report has to be submitted by the visitor concerned within 48 hours. Visitors who have received two vaccine jabs need not show an RT-PCR report,” Roy says.

Another important bottleneck in safety regulation has been mitigated by online visitor registration. Shailesh Sangani, Convener, Exhibitions, GJEPC, elaborates how the GJEPC app, downloadable from Google Play Store, has created a virtual badge that can allow access to the center. “This has been done to prevent any form of crowding at the reception center at the main entrance of the venue during the show. Only emergency applications and interactions are entertained in-person at the reception center, thus eliminating any chance of infection spreading,” says Sangani.

This apart, every hall of the venue is equipped with CCTV cameras that allow GJEPC to keep a record of first-time and repeat visitors. “This has to be done because GJEPC is following the government protocol of maintaining a physical distance of 3.25 square meter per person. The show is being organized over a vast area of 74,235 square meter space across 13 halls,” says Roy.Sanitisers are available all across each hall and temperature checking facility is there at the entrance of each hall to ensure safety among visitors,” Sangani adds. With such a robust system in place, it is ultimately upon the visitors to follow mandatory norms such as wearing masks at all times and maintaining physical distance out of own volition, observes Roy. “GJEPC as a government body bears a lot of responsibility for this magnificent in-person event. We are thus ensuring the best intelligence, technology and healthcare measures to safeguard people for a priceless B2B experience n Bengaluru,” concludes Roy.
