‘We will look at antique temple jewellery and bridal necklaces’

IIJS 2021

Saumitra Saraf, director, Aisshpra Gems and Jewels, Gorakhpur, talks to Samit Bhatta, publisher of The Retail Jeweller India magazine about his expectations from the IIJS

What are your expectations from the IIJS and what products are you looking at?

India has a good history of bouncing back. We have bounced back phenomenally, and sales have been great in the last couple of months. The gold prices have been supportive. We are excited as there will be new participants at the IIJS this time. Hopefully, when I am back from IIJS this time, I will have my bags full of inventory.

The third quarter is always about the bridal season, so we will look at diamond and heavy gold jewellery. We will look at antique temple jewellery and bridal necklaces, chokers and bangles. We have seen good demand for platinum jewellery too, so we are looking for an collaboration this time for a consistent supply of platinum.
