‘I am looking for jewellery for millennials’

IIJS 2021

Naveen Raj, general manager, Narayanan Jewellery, Mayiladuthural, Tamil Nadu, talks to Samit Bhatta, publisher of The Retail Jeweller India magazine about his expectations from IIJS

What are your expectations from the IIJS in terms of products?

After the Covid situation, this will be the largest physical exhibition in India. It will attract buyers from all over the world. This is the one stop solution for jewellers across India. Before, we had a lot of customers coming in looking for traditional jewellery. But the pandemic has changed things and we have millennials entering their stores. I am looking for jewellery for millennials. It is going to be a new market where these buyers will look for lightweight jewellery and pieces that they will change often. IIJS is where we can understand what changes are happening.

In Mumbai, there were language barriers and the travel. For the first time, a jewellery show of this magnitude is happening in the south and will bring a lot of buyers.
