JAS 2021 first physical show post-pandemic to kickstart B2B buying in Jaipur
Starting their journey in 2007, the association is successfully leading the revival of India’s buyer-seller sentiment with Jewellers Association Show (JAS) 2021, the first premium physical B2B event with the theme ‘Connect to Source’, to be held from August 18-20 in Jaipur.
Highlighting the growth trajectory of JAS, association chairman Ramsharan Gupta said that this is the oldest association to earn such a strong goodwill since its formation in 1927. “Since 2007, we have been doing B2C shows regularly and 2021 marks the first year for JAS’ foray into the B2B segment only,” said Gupta.
Within a month of the association receiving the government nod for an in-person show, the organisers have managed to create an exciting attraction for progressive retailers across the country to experience the indigenous flair of Jaipur’s jewellery. Heritage jewellery using precious and semi-precious gemstones is exclusive to this city of Rajasthan and it draws buyers from all parts of the country.
As far as buyers’ registrations for its debut B2B show is concerned, Gupta quoted an encouraging figure of 1000 registrations done so far. This apart, the convenors and co-conveners of the association’s committee have unanimously selected 500 hosted buyers for adequate representation of each major jewellery market across the country.
“The show is based on the positive feedback from last year’s one-day pilot B2B programme in Jaipur. Due to paucity of time, we didn’t get the expected turnout for that event, but we hope to realise that dream with the three-day programme this year,” Gupta maintained.
Echoing the same spirit are other committee members who have high hopes from the show. ‘Connect to source’ is the main mantra of JAS 2021 wherein buyers and exhibitors connect with the traditional roots of Jaipur’s brilliant craftsmanship. “JAS 2021 will help exhibitors and buyers to broaden their reach. The show will open networking avenues for the domestic as well as global market,” said Naresh Agroya, JAS co-convenor, Jaipur, on that note.
