GRT Jewellers extends a helping hand to hospitals, temples and the underprivileged alike to fight pandemic

GRT Jewellers undertook a slew of initiatives on public healthcare to fight the second wave of Covid-19. It installed two ventilators at ESIC hospital in Chennai, two oxygen concentrators at Mayiladuthurai Government Hospital, five oxygen concentrators at Chettinad Hospital and donated oxygen supplies to Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital.

That is just a part of the brand’s Covid-19 CSR activity as the jeweller distributed medical equipment and supplies worth Rs 22 lakh to Govt. RSRM hospital. This includes one ECG machine, 2,000 medical bed pads, 2,000 gloves, two pedestal fans and four nebulisers.

GRT also provided 50 oxygen flow meters to Vellore Government Medical College Hospital. They also contributed towards the free Covid care centre by the Rajasthani Health Foundation in Thoraipakkam. They donated close to Rs 5.6 lakhs worth of medical and safety equipments to the Primary Healthcare Centre in Kumbakonam.

Apart from healthcare, the brand has donated free food to over 4,000 people every day at some of their showrooms across Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru. GRT Jewellers also provided grocery kits to 50 families of the transgender community in Tirunelveli Narasinganalur to support them through these uncertain times.

GRT Jewellers also extended a helping hand by supplying grocery kits containing rice and other essentials to the temple staff of Sri Parthasarathy temple, Sri Trisulanathar temple, Sri Srinivasa Perumal temple, Sri Kalikambal temple and Sri Kapaleeshwarar temple. Helping artistes tide over the crises, the brand donated Rs 10 lakhs worth of groceries and staples to the members of the Tamil TV Artistes’ Association. GRT Jewellers also donated a sum of Rs 1 crore to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Relief Fund towards Covid relief efforts.
