Continuing its retail expansion, the company is also preparing to open a 7,500 sq. ft showroom in Shimoga in the coming months
Bengaluru: The Original Abharan has opened its new 10,000 sq. ft flagship showroom in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, marking a key addition to its retail network and taking its total store count to 20. The Jayanagar outlet represents a major expansion for the brand in Karnataka’s capital, offering customers a larger, more curated jewellery experience under one roof.
The new showroom was inaugurated by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar, who recalled his long-standing association with the Abharan family and the late Radha Madhukar Kamath, wife of Madhukar S Kamath. The event saw strong local participation, reflecting Abharan’s deep community ties and the enduring goodwill it enjoys in the region. Shivakumar recalled that Radha Madhukar Kamath used to look after him when he was a child and their neighbour in Bengaluru.

The new flagship store houses dedicated sections for gold, diamond, platinum and silver jewellery. The layout and interiors prioritize ease of navigation, product visibility and customer comfort. The opening marks a significant step in Abharan’s ongoing expansion across Karnataka and reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its presence in major urban markets.
The Jayanagar launch comes at a time of steady growth for the Udupi-headquartered jeweller. Earlier this year, Abharan commissioned a 20,000 sq. ft manufacturing facility in Udupi, employing over 250 artisans to support its design and production capabilities. The addition of this new retail space further strengthens the brand’s presence in southern Karnataka and signals its continued investment in the State’s key urban markets.
Continuing its retail expansion, the company is also preparing to open a 7,500 sq. ft showroom in Shimoga in the coming months. With 15 large and mid-format stores and five smaller outlets under 2,500 sq. ft, Abharan maintains a robust network across Udupi, Mangaluru, Karkala, Kundapur, Shimoga and Goa.
Founded in 1935 in Udupi by Burde Sadananda Kamath, The Original Abharan has built a reputation for trust, purity and craftsmanship over nearly nine decades. Even during challenging periods such as the Gold Control Act era, the brand’s commitment to authentic gold jewellery remained unchanged. Under the leadership of Madhukar S. Kamath, the business was revitalized in 1979 and has since evolved into one of Karnataka’s leading jewellery houses.
