Chennai: Thangamayil Jewellery Limited combined the celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami with its internal TFM Refreshment Programme by organizing a competition for employees. The initiative was designed to bring cultural and spiritual values into the workplace, while also contributing to stronger team engagement.

A total of 46 employees participated in the competition through activities such as drawing Sri Krishna, reciting shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita, and preparing prasadam without onion or garlic. The event encouraged employees to express creativity and devotion, while strengthening collective participation.

Ba. Ramesh, Joint Managing Director, Thangamayil Jewellery, said, “The thought behind organizing the TFM competition during Sri Krishna Janmashtami was to nourish and impart spiritual awareness to participants. We saw an opportunity to combine the spiritual significance of the festival with a meaningful activity, making the competition a unique experience.”

The event was part of the company’s wider strategy of connecting its workforce with shared values while improving morale and motivation. By linking cultural observances with corporate initiatives, Thangamayil Jewellery has sought to create a workplace environment where employee engagement directly supports long-term retail performance.

The company stated that the activities not only fostered teamwork but also encouraged employees to reflect on traditional practices in a contemporary setting. Through participation, staff gained opportunities to strengthen bonds with colleagues while aligning with the organization’s values.

Ba. Ramesh added, “Initiatives like these enhance team spirit and well-being, which ultimately contributes to our business goals. We believe that motivated and connected employees are better positioned to deliver consistent value to customers.”

With its TFM Refreshment Programme, Thangamayil Jewellery continues to integrate cultural and spiritual dimensions into employee engagement. The brand views such initiatives as critical in sustaining performance and expanding its retail presence in competitive markets.

The brand’s flagship store is located at Nethaji Road in Madurai. Thangamayil turned a public limited company in 2007 and released its maiden equity shares in 2010, which listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Limited and National Stock Exchange (NSE) Limited. Today, the company has 50 Thangamayil showrooms and 10 Thangamayil Plus Exclusive Silver showrooms, taking the total number of retail outlets to 60.
