Madurai: Thangamayil Jewellery recently concluded a two-day Leaders’ Get-Together, bringing together more than 90 leaders and managers from across its retail network. The initiative, designed to align business objectives, strengthen leadership capabilities and encourage collaboration across branches, marks a key component of the brand’s internal development strategy.

The meet was carefully curated to go beyond routine planning. It aimed to inspire leaders to take ownership of their goals, exchange ideas, and return to their stores with renewed purpose. By blending formal business sessions with experiential engagement, Thangamayil created a platform for meaningful conversations, idea-sharing and collective learning.

Day 1 involved structured team games that encouraged problem-solving and collaboration in a relaxed setting. Thereafter, the agenda shifted to a focused strategy and planning session. The day concluded with an informal beachside gathering, enabling cross-branch teams to interact and build connections outside their usual work environment.

Day 2 had activities designed to energize the group and reinforce team dynamics. The highlight of the second day was a training session led by an external mentor, who brought valuable insights on leadership, team motivation and customer engagement. The meet concluded with a shared commitment to apply the learnings in day-to-day operations.

Explaining the aim of the initiative, Ba. Ramesh, Joint Managing Director, Thangamayil Jewellery, stated, “Leadership is not just about setting goals, it’s about inspiring people to see those goals as theirs and grow together. When we break silos, share ideas, and work as one team, we don’t just hit targets; we build something bigger than ourselves.”

The event was designed to equip team leaders with the tools and mindset needed to drive performance and culture on the ground. With participants from multiple regions, it created space for peer-to-peer learning, where leaders exchanged ideas, addressed shared challenges, and explored best practices. The blend of formal strategy discussions and informal bonding activities helped foster trust, collaboration and team spirit.

Cross-branch interaction allowed participants to better understand regional dynamics and align more closely with the company’s broader objectives. Team-based games and discussions reinforced the value of collective problem-solving and interdependence across functions.

The meet focused on enhancing leadership thinking, team productivity and customer engagement. The experience encouraged leaders to shift from execution-focused roles to more strategic, growth-driven mindsets. It also helped build a stronger internal network—one that supports consistent operations and performance across stores. The event also highlighted Thangamayil’s ongoing commitment to people-led growth and operational excellence across its expanding retail footprint.

Thangamayil Jewellery has its flagship store at Nethaji Road in Madurai. It turned a public limited company in 2007 and released its maiden equity shares in 2010, which listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Limited and National Stock Exchange (NSE) Limited. Today, the company has 50 Thangamayil showrooms and 10 Thangamayil Plus exclusive silver showrooms, taking the total number of retail outlets to 60.
